GOLDEN EAGLE

Majestic, it dominates the vast mountains and meadows over which it spreads its wings. National symbol that goes back to the legend of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, where the eagle perched on a cactus devours a snake. For the Aztecs, the eagle is the disguise of the sun, "life-giving star and dispenser of light."
