Design Inspiration
DAY OF THE DEAD, MICTLAN
Design inspired by the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead, syncretism between Catholic celebrations and the customs of pre-Hispanic Mexico, celebrated on November 1 and 2 to honor the deceased with colorful offerings, decorated with cempasúchil flowers, sugar skulls , pan de muerto, papel picado, candles and incense arranged in their honor to commemorate what they liked in life, dialoguing with their memories and shared experiences. In Aztec belief, the Xoloitzcuintle dog was created to protect the living and guide the souls of the dead through the Mictlán or underworld.
